What is sudan dust storm?

Sudan dust storm is a phenomena that occurs in the Sahara desert region of Sudan. It typically happens during the dry season from November to April. The dusty air mass can be lifted by strong winds and carried westward across the Atlantic Ocean to reach the Caribbean, Central and South America. These storms can cause reduced visibility, respiratory problems, and transportation disruptions. In recent years, desertification and land degradation in the region have made dust storms more frequent and intense.
